Gearing up for the Ready to Wear Fast

Let me introduce myself.  I have been sewing for 40+years.  I took a detour to mostly quilting which lasted many years but I never gave up garment sewing.  I am a retired nurse, enjoy traveling, grandchildren, books and many forms of art.

I have been following GoodbyeValentino's blog which has been inspirational.  For the past decade, I have been concentrating on independent designers for patterns.  I then saw how she used patterns from the big pattern companies which were more currently stylish and generally less boxy.  They were fun! As someone whose closet is predominantly black and white, I also enjoyed her color choices.  I think it's time to break out of my rut.  As you can see from the photo above, it has begun!

For the next year, I plan to sew all my clothes.  Here are some picctures of previous garments.  The first is still in progress and is from the same OOP Sandra Betzina pattern as the second.  The next two are Nancy Erickson patterns.
